I love the list but you left out the following:
1) the only country in the world where you can spread chocolate on bread and have a sandwich
2) where half the country’s storms don;t include rain, but sand
3) where if you fall down in the street, a dozen strangers will help you up, give you a drink, volunteer to call an ambulance or take you right to the ER
4) where elderly folks give up their seat on a bus or a train to a soldier in uniform younger then their oldest grandchild and the soldier won;t take the seat, but help the senior with her packages to her front door
5) where a diet means only having cake on Shabbat
6) where the question, “Does she look Jewish?” is totally irrelevant
7) Israel is the only Western country that brought blacks out of Africa to live in freedom
And the most important reason to love Israel is that it is ours!
And Rolene, because it brought a wonderful, loving and talented woman like you to its shores.

The BDS movement has been a colossal failure and, in fact, has done a great deal to improve the quantity and marketability of all Israeli products. How? Well, they have given Israeli products and services millions of dollars worth of free advertising, identifying Israeli goods so that people who wish to but a tomato might purposely look for one grown in the Jewish state, They have made the issue of Israel’s phenomonal research and development of thousands of hi-tech, medical and agricultural achievements public, Their fascist tactics have heaped scorn and opprobrium upon them as the enemies of free speech and the right of all people to be heard whether in university classrooms, theatres or other public venues. But the most glaring and hypocritical activity of these anti-freedom groups is their use of Israeli hi-tech in their campaigns-their computers! Well, I wish them all the best, especially their health as they will gladly keep to their convictions and permit themselves to suffer horrible and pain filled deaths as they refuse Israeli medications and medical technologies.

This sort of undisciplined and irrational display simply proves how shallow and hollow the rationale is that motivates the BDS “movement”. In the end it’s nothing more than mindless hooliganism based on the flimsiest pretext to demonstrate for a “cause” that is barely understood. Once again, as we witnessed with the likes of Julius Malema, we face the lowest common denominator bent on ensuring that their pathetic voices are heard, no matter how ridiculous their utterances. Sadly, we have a number of members of our own community who line up with this rabble for reasons known best to themselves, a main one being their own sense of inferiority. Their is no other logical motivation.

Dear Rolene, that was a great title and article about Roger Waters. I followed the band religiously for 40 odd years and was truly impressed with Waters intelligence and philosophy. The purity and depth of my disdain toward him now cannot be measured. One can only wonder how he could have been so affected, and by what, to transform this man into what he has become. Brain-washed? too much of the wrong kind of drug?. His indecent rantings can only confirm the known lack of connection between intelligence and common sense. Thank you for reminding us all that he needs to deal with the real problems behind his own wall before he condemns our ethics and common sense behind ours

Seems that you missed out quite a few jury members, Rolene! What about Nobel Peace Laureate Mairead Maguire; Michael Mansfield QC; Lord Anthony Gifford; Dennis Banks (co-founder of the American Indian Movement); Jose Antonio Pallin (Spanish Supreme Court juge); Angela Davis (former Black Panther; American civil rights activits); and Cynthia McKinney (former US Congresswoman; and presidential candidate? I’d be interested to hear what you think about them!
